Our 360° Video Booth made a triumphant return, spinning up joy and capturing epic slow-motion memories at the campfire and the Sunday Vineyard Party. With the rolling hills and vines as a backdrop, guests got to star in their own cinematic moments. And another showstopper, our brand-new Roaming Photo Booth! We beat the desert heat with nonstop pool parties—day and night—featuring electric sets from incredible DJs and high-energy go-gos. Between that and our cozy game room, hospitality lounge, movie screenings, wellness sessions (Zumba and Yoga, anyone?), and nightly adventures from clubs to karaoke to showtunes, and even a private takeover of an entire waterpark, it was the ultimate mix of chill and thrill.
And we finally got to do something we’ve dreamed of for ages—teach a photography seminar! Sharing that passion with fellow creatives in the community was an unforgettable milestone. On the visual front, we elevated the experience with our 360° video platform, showcasing every splash and sparkle at both the waterpark and night pool party. And of course, our roaming photobooth made its dazzling debut at the Welcome Party at Piranha, kicking off the weekend in style. When I decided to turn my hobby into a business, it was just that, a business -- a way for me to make a living for myself. But as I shot subject after subject and hearing what they had to say in regards to the finished product, I realized why I'm really doing this. I'm changing lives.
My clients have written to me, almost in tears, overcome with emotion, seeing themselves in a light that they never have before. Thanking me for 'making them look so good.' But my reply is usually the same: It's not me that makes you look good. This is what you look like. I simply made sure to catch you at your best moments. In the LGBTQ+ community, we already have to live life under a veil as it is. And then there's the bear community: a subculture that has in the past been shunned from the prettyboy stereotype and dare I say, stigma, of the gay community. While the bear community has grown into quite the monster it is today, there are still individuals who fit that mold, but who aren't confident in themselves enough to embrace it. And that's where I've found my calling. I want to continue to help lift that veil from a community that has shown me what acceptance really is, and encourage my subjects that they are accepted as they are - bear, chub, or an admirer. As always, Palm Springs has shown us a great time. The sun was a nice escape from the winter on the East Coast for many. And it was great seeing familiar faces from Instagram and locals I met last year. Nino, George, and that who requests not to be named: you all put on a great party!
